Every January, there's always someone talking about goals, how to set them, how to identify obstacles to meeting them, how to determine checkpoints on the way to meeting them, and why you don't succeed. Meeting a goal means you get what you're focused on. You need a clarifying vision. Are you focused on what's not working in your life or are you focused on what you can create? Succeed on purpose. There are always reasons for not meeting goals, but the video below certainly high lights the rule for success. It should work with writing.

Thank you for the post. A little pep talk never hurts.
You have to enjoy what you do to finish the task at hand...like writing a book. Writing even a little each day, or most days, keeps you going.
Just what I needed this morning, to see someone who succeeded under great difficulty. Very inspiring. Sticking my logline on top of my computer always helps me to stay focused on the story.
I love writing and give thanks every day that I have the freedom to write in my nice little office at home.
